Arepas never fail to delight. They are the ideal round patty, crafted with white corn, tender and inviting, ready for your chosen filling.
Whether fried or grilled, an Arepa can provide a simple and satisfying meal after a challenging day. Arepas hold a special place in the hearts of Venezuelans and their descendants, no matter where they may be in the world.
Arepas with tuna salad are among the simplest meals I've ever made. Tuna is an affordable and versatile ingredient, making it easy to create a delicious and satisfying meal.
After moving to the United States and starting to cook with cast iron skillets, I discovered that cooking arepas in them is quick and straightforward. You can also use a traditional griddle or any non-stick pan.
This Grilled Arepas with Tuna Salad recipe is easy, healthy and affordable, perfect for a quick dinner.

Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and add a splash of cooking oil. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 15 minutes, turning every 5 to 8 minutes to ensure even cooking.
You can use a griddle instead of a cast iron skillet.
2.- Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for an additional 10 minutes, turning the patties occasionally for a total cooking time of 25 minutes.

4.-While the arepas cook, prepare the tuna salad. Open the cans and drain the excess water using a small colander. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and adjust seasoning as needed.
To assemble:
Using a knife, carefully slice the cooked arepas on the side to create a pocket. Fill the arepas with the prepared tuna salad.
Enjoy cooking these healthy and delicious Grilled Arepas With Tuna Salad.
