This recipe provides a healthier twist on traditional chicken parmesan by grilling the chicken breasts and seasoning them with garlic powder, dried onion flakes, and Italian herbs. No Sofrito for this one. While it's a simpler variation, it's easy to prepare and can be paired with various side dishes like pasta, mashed potatoes, or salad. By using your favorite marinara sauce, you can create a quick and delicious dinner. Plus, it's flexible - if you don't have marinara sauce, you can use fresh or canned tomatoes instead.
For this delicious Cheese Chicken with Marinara Sauce recipe, you will need 3 different types of cheese: mozzarella, smoked provolone, and parmesan. I like to cook it in a stainless steel pan since it cooks the chicken faster and crispier.

Ingredients:
Cheese Grilled Chicken with Marinara Sauce
- 2 Chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp of dried onion flakes
- 1/2 tsp of dried garlic
- 1 tsp of Italian dried seasoning
- 1/2 tsp of salt and 1/4 tsp of pepper
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices of smoked provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup of shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 jar of your favorite marinara sauce
- 2 tbsp of cooking oil
Directions:
1.- Begin by slicing one side of the chicken breast into small cubes. This will help the chicken cook evenly and achieve a crispy texture. In a cup, mix the seasonings and olive oil. Use this mixture to brush both sides of the chicken breasts.
2.- Preheat a stainless steel pan to medium-high heat and add the cooking oil.

3.- Place the chicken breasts in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they develop a crispy exterior.
4.- Reduce the heat to low and pour the entire jar of marinara sauce over the chicken.
5.- Layer each chicken breast with 2 slices of provolone cheese, followed by mozzarella, and then finally, sprinkle with parmesan. Cover the pan and allow the chicken to cook for an additional 5 to 7 minutes over medium-low heat, or until the cheeses are fully melted and bubbly.
